Post-Closing Manager

Reporting to the Director of Post-Closing, manage the day-to-day operations in assigned Post-Closing areas including, yet not limited to: HUD Insuring, Post-Closing Loan Resolution and Quality Assurance, Correspondent Purchasing departments, collateral management and shipping, MERS registration, reconciliation and audits, document audits and corrections.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all employees, including time, attendance, reviews, and performance.
  • Ensure all loans are reviewed and/or prepared for shipment in accordance within defined service level agreements, defined business policies and investor guidelines.
  • Ensures Post-Closing teams maintain appropriate turn times and service levels relative to post-closing documentation, FHA HUD Insuring, final HUDs, responses to internal business units, customers, investors and/or agencies.
  • Serves as subject matter expert, for the teams, on HUD guidelines, document delivery requirements, and all relative post-closing functions.
  • Completes compliance audits as needed.
  • May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
  • Develops, implements, and analyzes a variety of reports to measure department performance, as well as the performance of fulfillment operations.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the department.
  • Works with other department managers to streamline and promote changes to existing policies and procedures in an effort to promote best practices and enhance productivity.
  • Direct team lead(s), and team members, on a day to day basis; independently making personnel decisions and assigning work.
  • Proactively takes initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.
  • Administer training, coaching, and corrective measures to team members that promotes the attainment of goals and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze, suggest, develop and implement procedural change to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain effective reports to track inventory, production, and quality.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of management experience managing multiple teams and diverse tasks/operations.
  • 3+ years of Mortgage Operations/Post Closing Mortgage/Title Operations.
  • Reverse Mortgage experience highly preferred but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of investor pool certification as it pertains to documentation requirements, document custodian requirements, and trailing final docs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FHA Connection, HUD Insuring practices and FHA guidelines.
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications to include;
    Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • In-depth understanding of the MERS process and system.
  • Effective management and leadership abilities (workflow and employees).
  • Demonstrated ability to promote a positive team work environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and change management ability.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to achieve assigned objectives and goals while operating within corporate and departmental policy guidelines.
  • Reasoning ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Technically proficient; ability to effectively work in origination systems and Microsoft Excel.
