The Opportunity

The Encapsulation Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining semi-automatic (Model 10) and high-speed (Bosch) encapsulation machines in compliance with cGMP standards, SOPs, and Master Batch Records. This role involves machine setup, disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly, as well as accurate capsule filling, inspection, and documentation. Precision, attention to detail, and coordination with Quality Control are essential to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

What

You’ll Do
  • Set up the capsule machines with the proper tooling required as per the M  specifications, and manufacturing directions, following the specific S.O.P for the department, guided by the cGMPs.
  • Reassembly of parts and filling of blended materials into the product hopper manually with a sanitary product scoop. Also, fill an empty capsule hopper with capsules from supplier box into the capsule hopper.
  • Clean the tabletop surface and machine guard doors and windows before reassembly. Only a qualified operator or mechanic is authorized to make machine adjustments on segments, tamping rods and pins.
  • Adjust and set up machines to obtain the proper fill weight as specified in the M .
  • Operate and clean metal detectors and capsule polishers as necessary. Fill sanitary containers with finished capsules.
  • Visually inspect finished capsules for defects, including color shifts and particle size separation.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control on batch record signoffs and any activity related to cGMP compliance.
  • Clean and sanitize all tabletop surfaces and base cabinet walls.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
What You’ll Bring
  • High School Diploma/Certificate; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and interpret bar graphs; familiar with the metric system.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and solve problems with several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to stand for 10 hours and lift 50 lbs; lifting of raw material containers within OSHA limitations is necessary.
  • Other duties include material handling using forklifts and pallet jacks; interface as a checker or weigher to satisfy double checks; ability to set up digital scales and wear a dust respirator.

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $18.00-$20.00. Compensation offered may vary depending on geographic region, knowledge, skills, and/or education.
