Electrical Assembly Tech II
Assembly Technician assembles and wires electronic equipment and electro-mechanical component assemblies in accordance with IPC 620 standards. This role involves complex wiring, cable and harness installation, and printed wiring board assembly while following detailed drawings, schematics, and procedures to deliver high-quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire various electronic equipment and electro-mechanical component assemblies in accordance with IPC 620 standards.
- Complete wiring and assembly tasks, including point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and harness installation.
- Interpret and accurately follow assembly drawings, wire lists, and electrical schematics.
- Perform complex and intricate wiring of chassis, consoles, and control enclosures.
- Assemble printed wiring boards and perform through-hole and surface mount terminations into circuit boards.
- Use hand tools, soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, and other assembly tools safely and effectively.
- Apply practical knowledge of basic electrical circuits, equipment, and standard practices during assembly work.
- Follow departmental and company procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality workmanship.
- Follow both written and verbal instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately and on time.
- Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity in the assembly process.
Essential
Skills:
- Proficiency in assembly of electronic and electro-mechanical components in accordance with IPC 620 standards.
- Strong soldering skills for both through-hole and surface mount components.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, wire lists, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Practical knowledge of basic electrical circuits, equipment, and standard electrical practices.
- Proficiency with hand tools, including soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, and other common assembly tools.
- Mechanical ability and familiarity with production and assembly equipment.
- Clear understanding of the English language with the ability to read, write, and speak effectively.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Experience in mechanical assembly, including trimming and aircraft or similar precision assembly environments.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical school education, equivalent training, or relevant on-the-job training in electronics or electro-mechanical assembly.
- Experience with assembly work that involves IPC 620 standards and quality requirements.
- Work experience in mechanical assembly, aircraft assembly, or similar high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production setting.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
