- The incumbent performs assigned nursing procedures, takes vital signs, collects and processes specimens for analysis, and assists physicians with examinations and treatments.
- Observes, records and reports the physical and mental condition of patients.
- This position may be filled as an LVN Vocational Nurse (008917) or SR LVN Vocational Nurse (08916). The classification is dependent upon certification and experience held.
- LVN license required for the Vocational Nurse position; the Sr Vocational Nurse requires a license and a minimum of 6 months experience working as an LVN in an acute care setting.
- Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Minimum 6 months experience working as an LVN in an acute care setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
- Understanding of JCAHO requirements.
- Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese.
- Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Basic Life Support.
