Position Summary
The clinical nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement a plan of care for a specific group of assigned patients. Performing professional nursing duties, the nurse will assess, plan, intervene, and advocate for patients and families on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care. The nurse will evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of the plan of care, readiness for discharge, and revise the plan or make referrals as necessary.
The nurse will serve as a role model and mentor to students and new nurses on the unit, and may act as a Patient Care Coordinator as requested by the supervisor or manager.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as an RN in Labor & Delivery.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment.
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
- AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring completed within the last two (2) years.
- Understanding of applicable regulatory requirements.
- Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.
