Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Clinic Supervisor ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care by supervising the Clinical Care team and manages the daily, comprehensive clinical care operations and services.
As an administrator, the Clinic Supervisor will assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to patient care that meet local, State, Federal requirements and other accreditation standards (e.g. Joint Commission, National Patient Safety Goals, ISMP, Title 22, CCS/GHPP/Medi-Cal). The Clinic Supervisor will work with the Nurse Educator to lead the development and implementation of educational materials and in‑services for staff and patients.
The Clinic Supervisor works collaboratively with the Clinic team to support the physical and psychosocial well‑being of patients and their families. The Clinic Supervisor will actively participate in Quality Improvement projects and activities.

- Clinical: Promotes the comprehensive care model by providing direct patient care and ensuring the Clinical Care team is trained in government and other regulatory agency requirements; cross‑trained in job skills to ensure adequate clinical coverage and ensures patients are receiving the highest quality hematology care to promote longer, healthier and more productive lives.
- Supervisory: Provides direct supervision of the Clinical Care team (including but not limited to Clinic Nurse, Medical Assistant, Medical Scribes, Patient Care Coordinators) through the use of clinical, management, and leadership skills; manages the daily, comprehensive clinical care operations and services; responsible for hiring, scheduling, evaluating, training, and developing the Clinical Care team.
- Administrative: Works collaboratively with the physicians, clinical staff and CIBD leadership; participates in the development and implementation of Clinic policies, procedures, and guidelines for clinical staff, training and education for patients and their families, and Joint Commission and other regulatory agency readiness.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree or equivalent years of experience in nursing.
- Minimum of five years of experience in healthcare as a Registered Nurse, including at least 3 years of experience in an ambulatory setting.
- Minimum of two years experience as a Lead (or higher) Registered Nurse.
- Current Registered Nurse License issued by the State of California.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (or ability to obtain within the first three months of hire).
- HIPAA Training (or ability to complete within one month of hire).
Required Qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare associates, outside funding agencies (Federal, state, local, industry and community), vendors, staff at all levels and the general public.
- Strong organizational skills in the areas of administration.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures relative to the administration of sponsored projects activities.
- Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal and team building skills and effective staff training, leading and mentoring skills; and proven ability to formulate and implement policies.
- Title 22 regulations for Clinic Compliance.
