Nurse Educator / Nursing Professional Development Practitioner

Part‑time, 8‑hour day shifts at Providence St. Joseph Hospital – Orange, CA.

Providence St. Joseph Hospital is a Magnet‑designated, award‑winning community hospital committed to excellence in nursing care. This role supports the professional and clinical development of bedside nurses and fosters empowerment through knowledge to achieve evidence‑based nursing care.

• Facilitate the educational process through assessment of learning needs, and development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and activities in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams.
• Conduct all levels of competency validation, from orientation through advanced levels.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure regulatory compliance regarding clinical practice through education and competency validation.
• Participate in strategic planning to achieve outcomes and lead project groups focused on staff development.
• Act as a consultant to committees and teams, making recommendations to improve patient care, develop and revise policies, procedures, and programs.
• Integrate research into practice and serve as a resource and mentor to staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• California Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) upon hire.
• Certification in a clinical specialty or nursing education within 180 days of hire.
• Minimum 3 years of acute‑hospital clinical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a clinical role.
• Clinical experience in the area specialty of the position.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing.
