Your Role on the TeamThe position of Nurse Practitioner II (90% effort) in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine & Palliative Medicine requires a highly competent, independent yet team‑oriented individual. Under the supervision of Anuj Ohri, MD and guided by applicable policies and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner will participate in the comprehensive care of patients in ambulatory or inpatient settings and provide multidisciplinary care coordination, treatment, education, monitoring, and communication with patients and referring physicians.
ThisPosition May Perform
- Functions as appropriate to scope of practice, including management of chronic stable medical conditions, routine care, and acute or critical care.
- Privileges are unique to each person and may not include all privileges.
- Provides patient care across age groups and health‑licensed settings and affiliates as allowed by education and license.
- Responsible for maintaining standards of care for the specified patient population and demonstrates self‑direction and accountability to quality of care and role development across all Health locations.
- Required to be credentialed to practice and privileged through Medical Staff before first day of work.
- Accountable to, evaluated, and receives feedback from the supervising physician, other physicians in the same specialty, or the Administrative Manager.

Requirements- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the program and UCI Health System.
- Diplomacy and flexibility in interacting with physicians, nurses, paramedical personnel, administrators, emergency and law‑enforcement officers.
- Demonstrated customer service skills appropriate to the job.
- Clear communication of medical information to a broad variety of people, both in person and over the telephone.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Writing skills to prepare clear medical reports, laboratory data and progress notes with appropriate pace.
- Knowledge and ability essential to successful performance of assigned duties and training in specialized medical equipment and procedures.
- Understanding of, and adherence to, privacy, confidentiality, and security policies and procedures related to PHI.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Current, active, unrestricted California Nursing license and DEA registration.
- NP National Board Certification (Adult Gerontology Acute Care AGACNP‑BC or ACNPC‑AG).
- Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
- Multilingual.
- Ability to obtain UCIMC Allied Health Professional Privileges prior to hire.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
