Position Summary:
The House Supervisor is responsible for all management functions related to the delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care, throughout the Neuropsychiatric Hospital during off hours and weekends. Provides support to the various units while maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and unit specific expertise. Specific duties include managing Human Resources; directing patient care activities;
monitoring bed placement; providing clinical support to various units; and participating on departmental and medical center wide performance improvement projects.
Required Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year experience working in a direct patient care position in a Psychiatric inpatient or outpatient setting Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English Demonstrated supervisory experience working in an inpatient setting, preferably in Psychiatry Current California RN license Current BLS certification Complete understanding of acuity levels for all patient populations All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Ability to appropriately deal with stressful situations and individuals while remaining calm and professional
