Night shift, 4x10 Hours — 9:30 PM to 7:30 AM (start time is 2130, but may flex to 2000 as needed);

This is a Blood Bank
-focused Clinical Lab Scientist travel contract at an acute care, MAGNET-designated hospital with 426 total staffed beds. The clinician will work fully independent at night and must be able to work alone with confidence. The facility handles high-volume work, with 30–50 samples per day including high-volume type/screen and cross match. First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment.
- Perform blood bank functions fully independently on the night shift, including high-volume type/screen and cross match
- Process 30–50 samples per day in a large hospital (300 beds) environment
- Operate blood bank software and applicable instrumentation (Wellsky and Immucor instrumentation preferred)
- Adhere to scheduling requirements including rotating weekends and holidays; weekends may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs
- Provide daytime Pacific Time interview availability at time of submission
- If assignment lists multiple lab specialties, provide percentage breakdown of time spent in each specialty at time of submission
- RTO must be included at time of submission; scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered
- Minimum 2 years of experience — HARD STOP
- Seasoned traveler in Blood Bank — DO NOT SCREEN without this
- Epic experience — HARD STOP
- Blood bank experience — HARD STOP; must be recent/current Blood Bank traveler (within the past 2 years)
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Must have experience with blood bank software (any software accepted) — HARD STOP
- Must have experience in a large hospital (300 beds)
- Ability to work fully independent at night with confidence

- Teaching hospital background preferred
- ASCP-BB (American Society for Clinical Pathology — Blood Bank) certification required
- Clinical Immunohematology Scientist (Clin Immunohem Sci) certification preferred
