Job Description
The Sherwin‑Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an accelerated, entry‑level program designed to prepare candidates for a Store Management role within 18‑24 months. The program includes an 8‑week intensive training, followed by 12‑months of on‑the‑job experience during which participants collaborate with store management to oversee a million‑dollar business, drive sales, and develop expertise in operations, customer service, and marketing. Typical schedule is 44 hours per week and may include evenings and/or weekends.
Responsibilities- Complete the program’s training and development activities.
- Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Build and maintain knowledge of all products to make effective recommendations.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
- Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including safety, loss prevention, and security.
- Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
- Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action.
- Respond to and resolve any customer and/or employee complaints.
- Partner with the Store Manager on outside sales calls to increase market share.
- Handle customer contact, which may include minors, and access to cash, payment methods, electronic equipment, and personal information in a supervised or unsupervised environment.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the country without requiring sponsorship.
- Valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
- At least a bachelor’s degree by the start of the program.
- Physical ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks, lift 50 lb. frequently and 70 lb. on occasion.
- Internal employees must have received a “meets expectations” rating on their most recent appraisal.
- Internal employees must have completed all required HR Cloud eLearning courses.
- One year of retail, sales, or customer service experience.
- One year of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience in a team‑oriented setting, such as work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
- Experience selling paint or paint‑related products.
- Experience using time‑keeping and/or customer‑relationship‑management systems.
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
- Multilingual communication skills; proficiency in Spanish preferred.
