Job Summary
This position acts as the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the BU level, supporting commercial rental and trailer services product lines. The role is responsible for generating profitable new accounts, retaining existing accounts, and ensuring customer satisfaction to drive rental revenue growth and improved profitability.
Compensation and BenefitsBase salary: $50,000 per year plus monthly commission. Commission earning potential starts modestly in the first three months and can reach approximately $1,500 per month once the pipeline is established, leading to first‑year commission earnings of $10,000 to $13,500 on top of base pay.
Mileage reimbursement for all business travel. Optional cell phone: company‑provided phone or $35 per month stipend. Eligible for annual bonus and long‑term incentive plan.
Responsibilities- Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits.
- Assess customer needs and develop proposals using product knowledge.
- Coordinate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability.
- Market at the branch level; train rental sales representatives in telemarketing to prospective and existing customers.
- Retain customers through regular visits and phone calls, handling complaints and staying updated on long‑term rental needs.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, and maintain customer files; coordinate follow‑up correspondence with other BU departments.
- Administer credit approval, collections of receivables, and updates of scheduling and PM status.
- Maintain FIS integrity and accuracy of customer data in the DPS system.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or 5 years equivalent related experience.
- Minimum one year of sales experience or equivalent sales training.
- Three years or more of sales experience preferred.
- Industry experience preferred; one year or more of DOT regulated experience desired.
- Uncapped commission earning potential; accurate knowledge of internal equity and salary ranges.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships at all levels.
- Self‑directed, high energy, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Effective time management, organization, and follow‑up practices.
- Ethical business practices, professionalism, and detail orientation.
- Adaptability to fast‑paced environments and capacity to handle multiple tasks.
