Role & Responsibilities
  • Review Project scope and determine applicable permits. This includes municipal building permits, variances, special use permits, agency streams, wetlands, PSC Article VII or Part 102, CT Siting Counsel, Army Corps, Natural Heritage or SHPO consultation, coastal zone development, DOT, FAA, etc.
  • Develop or coordinate the development of the required environmental permits.
  • Manage progress against plans, perform risk assessments, and take action to mitigate risks.
  • Verify project adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in project teams and regular program/project planning, execution, and delivery team meetings.
  • Represent the company at public or regulatory meetings.
  • Review proposals of laws and regulations as they apply to company operations.
  • Manage or oversee implementation and inspection of wildlife, agriculture or wetland mitigation/management plans, and other regulatory requirements of permits which extend beyond construction phase of project.
  • Support the development of SWPPPs.
  • Escalate issues when necessary.
  • Conduct SWPPP inspections, oversee contracted SWPPP inspectors or environmental monitors, and conduct environmental inspections at construction projects.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • 5–7 years of experience working with environmental permits and regulatory agencies for construction, infrastructure, or energy-related projects
  • Experience preparing and reviewing environmental reports, permit applications, and regulatory documents
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
