OverviewYale School of Nursing (YSN) is seeking a Director of Financial Aid to join a dynamic and growing Office of Enrollment. The Director is responsible for the financial aid operations at YSN, including administration of all financial aid programs, maintaining regulatory compliance, and ensuring high‑quality customer service. This position requires schedule flexibility for evening and weekend programming.
Principal Responsibilities- Administer all financial aid programs, including evaluation, approval and award of funding.
- Maintain compliance with federal Title IV and state regulations as well as institutional policies and procedures.
- Ensure high‑quality customer service to students.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management in process improvement and budget management.
- Determine student eligibility for funds, perform need analyses and award determination from federal, institutional, state and private sources.
- Perform financial aid verifications according to federal and institutional policies.
- Review student accounts and resolve award adjustment requests and loan and budget adjustment petitions.
- Maintain accurate records documenting distribution and allocation of financial aid funds.
- Develop, implement and maintain a proactive student‑centered customer service approach.
- Manage financial aid staff, including onboarding, training and workflow optimization.
- Manage and report on the financial aid budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures.
- Develop reports and provide analysis on financial aid data, trends and outcomes.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of events such as financial aid and financial literacy workshops.
- Maintain and update website and online portals with relevant and up‑to‑date information on policies, procedures and resources.
- Collaborate with the Associate Dean on quality assurance, ongoing process improvement, and policy development.

- Demonstrated excellence in public presentation; superior writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well‑developed data analysis and visualization skills, proficiency in Excel and ability to adapt to new software.
- Deep knowledge of financial aid processes in graduate and/or professional school settings; ability to counsel applicants and communicate with diverse prospective students.
- Prior experience in financial aid processing, counseling and/or management at the graduate school level.
- Familiarity with CRM systems such as Slate.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field and five years of experience in a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
