About Us

At Coastal Connecticut Counseling, we believe mental health care should feel human, not corporate. As a clinician‑owned practice, we’re built on the values of compassion, connection, and community—and we work every day to live those values inside and outside our walls. We provide high‑quality therapy and psychiatric services across the lifespan, while making care accessible through insurance partnerships and financial assistance, because we believe mental health support should never be a luxury.

At Coastal, you’re not just another employee—you’re part of a team that supports one another, invests in your growth, and celebrates your impact. We foster a collaborative environment where your ideas are heard, your development is prioritized, and your work genuinely makes a difference in the lives of our clients and our community.

If you're looking for a place where you can grow your career, build real connections, and be part of something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you.

Position Summary

We’re looking for provisionally licensed clinicians (LMSW, LPC‑A, LMFT‑A) who are passionate about building their clinical skills while being part of a supportive, connected team. Our provisionally licensed clinicians benefit from the security and stability of a group practice setting, allowing them to focus on client care and their professional growth without the burdens of billing, insurance management, or administrative work.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to explore different therapeutic approaches, strengthen their clinical foundation, and build a thriving career with the support of experienced mentors, structured supervision, and a collaborative community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group therapy services with a productivity expectation of 25 billable client hours per week (scheduling close to 30 to account for rescheduling and cancellations).
  • Conduct intake assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver evidence‑based interventions tailored to client needs.
  • Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with Coastal’s standards, insurance requirements, and ethical guidelines.
  • Participate in regular clinical supervision and mentorship to support skill development and professional growth.
  • Collaborate closely with Coastal’s team of therapists, psychiatric providers, and support staff to ensure coordinated, client‑centered care.
  • Attend case consultations, clinical team meetings, and in‑house professional development workshops.
  • Stay curious and open to learning different therapeutic modalities and evidence‑based practices.
  • Uphold the values of compassion, connection, and community in all client and team interactions.
Skills
  • Strong foundational clinical skills in assessment, treatment planning, and intervention.
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain supportive, trusting therapeutic relationships with diverse clients.
  • Commitment to ongoing learning, growth, and ethical practice.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Openness to feedback, supervision, and collaboration as part of the learning process.
  • Comfort using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and managing digital documentation requirements.
  • Flexibility, critical thinking, and a solution‑focused mindset.
  • Enthusiasm for working in a compassionate, collaborative, and growing practice environment.
Qualifications
  • Active provisional licensure in Connecticut (LMSW, LPC‑A, or LMFT‑A).
  • Strong interest in working with a range of client populations with a primary focus on children and families.
  • Eagerness to learn and explore a variety of therapeutic approaches and evidence‑based practices.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Desire to grow within a values‑driven practice focused on clinical excellence, compassion, and human connection.
  • Guaranteed base salary with the opportunity to earn additional bonuses as recognition for exceeding clinical expectations and contributing to our team's success.
  • Weekly individual clinical supervision provided at no cost toward full licensure.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidays.
  • Free and discounted CEU opportunities and ongoing professional development.
  • Administrative, billing, and insurance support handled by dedicated staff.
  • Flexible scheduling with hybrid in‑person and telehealth options (after initial onboarding and based on productivity).
  • Collaborative, growth‑minded work culture that values mentorship, connection, and community.
