Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating activities for transmission line projects located in Connecticut and possibly New York. You will manage resource requirements, priorities, investment plans, project execution strategy and internal/external resource requirements. Projects may originate due to reliability, asset health, system capacity, customer or other needs. Responsibilities include meeting corporate goals for capital investment, managing Construction Work in Progress, and energization of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate project resources, including engineers, construction managers and external contractors.
  • Hold contractors and project team members accountable for performance and results.
  • Provide technical and business advice to senior management when required.
  • Provide overall project control and reporting, leading scheduling, cost control, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in conformance with quality and engineering standards.
  • Oversee project budgets, O&M and capital expenditures.
  • Analyze project performance and initiate actions to control scope, schedule, and cost.
  • Approve project plans, execute contract strategies, authorize expenditures, and ensure compliance with project management and quality management processes.
  • Inform management and teams regarding cost and schedule variances and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with other departments, consultants, attorneys, utilities, municipal stakeholders, permitting agencies, regulatory agencies, government agencies, and major customers.
  • Represent the company in regulatory hearings or at federal, state, local, or municipal meetings.
  • Ensure project accountability complying with FERC, NERC, and applicable regulations.
  • Promote automation and efficiencies in daily work streams and recommend policy changes.
  • Utilize the risk control system; define risks, cost, and mitigation action analysis.
  • Attend executive management meetings and present cost‑schedule‑risk reports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree in engineering or experience in the energy industry preferred.
  • Experienced in contract negotiations and supplier management.
  • Proven experience obtaining siting permits.
  • Project Management Professional Certification preferred.
  • Understanding of QMS, EMS, ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and implementation with project structure.
  • Knowledge of main configuration and general arrangements of network infrastructures (substations, overhead lines, underground cables).
  • Fluent in Microsoft Suite & SharePoint.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Experience in project management (individual, multiple, simultaneous, linked projects).
  • Project planning for unique, one‑time initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, negotiation, dispute resolution, analytical, coaching, and mentoring skills.
  • Agility, versatility, flexibility, and productivity in a multitasking, rapidly changing environment.
  • Auditing/controls, metrics design and development experience.
