Maintenance Mechanic II
Orange, CT 06477
Schedule:
1st Shift;
Monday–Friday; 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (40 hours per week)
Pay Rate: $27/hr
Manufacturing / Industrial Maintenance
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic II to support maintenance operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Orange, CT. This role is responsible for preventative and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment repair, machine installations, and supporting production uptime across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong industrial maintenance experience, the ability to work independently, and hands-on troubleshooting skills with production equipment and PLC systems.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative, predictive, and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Maintain and repair presses, welding equipment, roll forming machines, and other production equipment
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics
- Troubleshoot equipment issues down to the component level and complete repairs with minimal production downtime
- Assist with installation and validation of new equipment and modifications to existing machinery
- Collaborate with engineering, facilities, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues
- Support light fabrication and part fabrication activities
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out procedures and maintain a strong safety-first mindset
- Perform general facilities, building, and grounds maintenance as assigned
- Support sustainability and energy conservation initiatives
- High school diploma or GED required
- Trade school or technical training preferred
- Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance or machine repair experience required
- Experience with hydraulic presses, welding, die forming, and machine building strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of PLC troubleshooting and program maintenance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Good math, communication, and computer skills required
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Multilingual candidates are a plus
- PLC Certification
- Welding Certification
- Industrial Electronics Certification
- Valid Driver's License required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance throughout the shift
- Frequent use of hands for grasping, handling, and repetitive motions
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and moving equipment
- Must maintain constant mental focus and safety awareness in an industrial setting
