American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for an Outpatient Clinic Infusion position requiring chemotherapy certification and ambulatory infusion experience.
Details- Outpatient Treatment Center setting within a Level I Trauma Center system
- Outpatient Clinic Infusion unit administering chemotherapy and biotherapy to patients
- Patient ratio of 1:8
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- No weekend requirement
- No on-call requirement
- No floating required
- Epic charting system used
- Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
- BLS and Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- Minimum 2-3 years of RN experience required, with prior travel experience required
- Ambulatory/outpatient infusion experience required; inpatient-only experience not suitable
- Experience with IV therapy, infusion administration, and port access/management
- Experience administering chemotherapy, monitoring for reactions, and handling body fluids post-chemotherapy
- Experience with central line and PICC line care preferred
- Experience with blood and blood product administration, and coagulation factor administration
- Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal lab values
- Phlebotomy skills required
- 1 professional reference required
- Must apply for CT license prior to submission, as processing takes 15-21 business days
- Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy to outpatient oncology patients in a clinic setting
- Manage and care for central lines, PICC lines, and ports
- Monitor patients for chemotherapy-related reactions and manage cytotoxic spills safely
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
- COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons
- Free parking available on-site
- RTO requires approval, with up to 7 days auto-approved
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility
- Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
- First-time travelers not accepted for this role
