Position: Retail Banker I - Orange (20 hour)

Job Description

The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison who delivers TD’s Brand promise by providing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist Customers with their banking solutions and needs. This role supports business objectives by identifying appropriate TD solutions that help Customers achieve their financial goals and deepen their relationship with TD.

Depth & Scope
  • Proficient in products, services and routine transactions to identify opportunities to educate customers on Bank products and services or refer them to appropriate team members or internal partners.
  • Broad knowledge of the full product suite, services and processes of the business area, typically with low to moderate complexity and risk.
  • Establishes and nurtures customer relationships, consistently displaying product knowledge and actively listening to customer needs while engaging in additional conversation to identify further needs and offer solutions or referrals.
  • Makes product recommendations based on customer needs and highlights product features and benefits that ultimately support customers during challenging times and life events.
  • Utilizes Customer Relationship Management tools to proactively play a key role in customer assessments, identify customer solutions and lead-oriented outbound sales activities.
  • Opens and independently resolves customer issues, errors and problems, escalating when necessary.
  • Builds working relationships with customers and explains detailed or complicated information.
  • Requires full proficiency gained through job-related training to perform a range of activities.
  • Participates in customer outreach, servicing and advice activities to deliver on the “human” promise.
  • Engages in conversations with customers about loan products and facilitates application intake.
  • Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
Education & Experience
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • 1+ year of customer-facing and/or sales experience, including volunteering, education or military experience.
  • Teller experience preferred.
  • Must complete teller training upon hire to handle customer transactions.
  • Ability to engage in customer conversations while educating them on products and services.
  • Organization skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, concise, clear and consistent.
  • Ability to schedule and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Sound judgment and effective problem-solver.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Notary license preferred.
Customer Accountabilities
  • Deliver legendary customer experience by building relationships, providing service and advice, and resolving issues.
  • Support the Bank’s Customer Service Strategy and deliver end‑to‑end advice.
  • Act as a customer advocate, providing proactive tips and insights on saving time and money.
  • Perform teller transactions including check cashing, deposits, transfers and withdrawals, while monitoring fraud mitigation and adhering to operational policies.
  • Act as a brand champion internally and externally.
  • Educate clients on self‑service channels and digital options.
Shareholder Accountabilities
  • Ensure compliance with operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act).
  • Apply operating policies and procedures and support accurate completion of business processes.
  • Escalate non‑standard or high‑risk transactions as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate documentation that reflects client intent and complies with rules and regulations.
  • Understand and comply with the Bank Code of Conduct.
