Position Overview

We are seeking a Special Education teacher with ABA training and experience in a special education classroom or resource room setting, who is comfortable working cooperatively with academic teachers within a team concept.

Qualifications

NJ Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities and Elementary Education certification.

Experience teaching students in a self-contained Autism Spectrum Disorder program required; implementation of ABA principles and strategies preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of designing and implementing individualized educational programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, including differentiated instruction, AAC, behavior supports, communication development, and data‑driven decision making.

Demonstrated ability to work with middle school students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and diverse communication, behavioral, academic, and functional needs.

Strong interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.

Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident/immigrant status.

Responsibilities

Implements instruction to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.

Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and objectives.

Employs instructional methods and available materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.

Assesses performance of students on a continuing basis and provides progress reports as required.

Identifies students who require additional support services.

Communicates with colleagues, students, and parents.

Maintains high expectations for student performance and behavior.

Engages in professional development activities that enhance instructional practices.

Participates in appropriate building and district meetings.

Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.

Uses technology for communication purposes.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Starting Salary Range:

Bachelor's Degree: $70,000 - $100,315
Master's Degree: $77,450 - $109,865
Master's + 30 Credits: $81,565 - $115,450
Doctorate: $84,565 - $118,450
