We value the safety of all members of the Gator Community at our beautiful campus on the Sabine River. LSCO publishes an Annual Security Report that provides information regarding campus Safety & Security, including topics such as crime reporting policies, information regarding programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking, the procedures the College will follow when one of these crimes is reported, and other matters of importance related to security on campus.
The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes.

Job SummaryThe CTE Advisor reports directly to the Director of Advising and Career Services and is responsible for leading advising efforts for our Career and Technical Education students and programs. Duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

Preferred Qualifications EDUCATION
Associate degree required. Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, education, communication, or related fields preferred.
EXPERIENCEExperience working in higher education and/or recruiting preferred.
Supplemental Information Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of advising techniques and of computers, applications, and software programs that support advising programs preferred. Knowledge of the Texas State University System, industry and technology, recruiting, and job placement is preferred. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills. Bi-lingual preferred. Must be able to work some nights and/or weekends. Requires travel.
Physical RequirementsRequires frequent sitting, walking, and standing. Requires frequent driving, lifting, and pushing, pulling, and carrying objects up to 20 pounds. Requires operating a personal computer, calculator and various pieces of office equipment. Requires infrequent stooping, bending, sorting, and filing.
Security SensitiveThis position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215.
Working ConditionsNormal office environment requires travel within a 100-mile radius and may require some overnight travel to conferences or workshops.
