Job Summary
The Workforce Trainer/Instructor provides high-quality instruction for continuing education and workforce training programs. This position supports the development of a skilled workforce by delivering industry-relevant training to employees, job seekers, and other adult learners. Training may be provided on campus, at an industry partner's facility, or at other designated training locations. Courses may include technical, industrial, safety, professional development, skilled trades, equipment, or other customized workforce training based on the needs of the college and its industry partners.
Duties/Responsibilities- Deliver classroom, laboratory, hands-on, or workplace-based instruction in assigned subject areas as deemed appropriate.
- Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course objectives, industry standards, and partner expectations.
- Prepare instructional materials, demonstrations, activities, and assessments appropriate for adult learners.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and effective learning environment.
- Demonstrate proper procedures, equipment use, and industry best practices as applicable to the course.
- Monitor participant progress and provide feedback and assistance as needed.
- Maintain accurate attendance, completion, assessment, and other required course documentation.
- Communicate effectively with Continuing Education/Workforce staff regarding course needs, scheduling, participant progress, and training outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with industry partners to support customized training needs and workforce development goals.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable industry practices, technologies, regulations, and standards.
- Ensure training equipment and instructional materials are used safely and appropriately.
- Represent the college professionally when providing training at partner locations or within the community.
- Perform other duties related to workforce and continuing education instruction as assigned.
- Demonstrated education, training, certification, and/or professional experience related to the subject area being taught.
- Practical knowledge and experience within the applicable industry or occupational field.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical or professional information to adult learners.
- Ability to provide both classroom and hands-on instruction, when applicable.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse educational, professional, and experience backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain required records and documentation.

- Knowledge of current industry standards and practices within the assigned instructional area.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and provide effective hands-on demonstrations.

- Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with college staff and industry partners.
Work Environment
Instruction may occur in traditional classrooms, laboratories, shops, industrial facilities, outdoor environments, or other workplace settings depending on the course. Evening, weekend, or variable schedules may be required based on training and industry partner needs.
Physical requirements and working conditions may vary depending on the subject matter and training environment.
Employment Status
Workforce Instructors may be employed on a part-time, temporary, adjunct, or course-by-course basis depending on program needs. Teaching assignments are based on enrollment, industry partner demand, instructor qualifications, and course availability.
