Position Summary

The Quality and Compliance Specialist promotes a culture of improvement within the Texas Family Care Network by monitoring the quality and regulatory compliance of network providers and providers from whom ancillary services are purchased. The Quality and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for facilitating the provider monitoring process, including routine provider audits, site visits, and partnering with network providers to develop and implement performance improvement plans and tracks results to ensure all issues are remediated.

The Quality and Compliance Specialist will perform all job duties in a way that demonstrates and emphasizes kind and respectful behavior, purposeful connection, and integrity in a service-oriented manner.

Responsibilities
  • Review applications from prospective Network Providers, required documents, policies, and forms. Conduct due diligence screening for performance and compliance history of prospective provider, upload documentation into the organization's system, and submit all documents to the state for review and approval.
  • Conduct audits, reviews, on-site visits, and monitoring of assigned network providers according to the terms of their contract.
  • Facilitate joint monitoring process with other SSCCs as applicable.
  • Develop performance improvement plans for network providers.
  • Conduct investigations of serious incidents, grievances, and complaints as needed.
  • Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations and company policies.
Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in the child welfare industry, quality improvement, or safety and compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
  • Clearances: DPS, DFPS, FBI, CBCU Eligibility Determination, Child Abuse Clearances.
Working Conditions
  • Physical Demands: This position requires operating a keypad device 50% of the day and electronic/office equipment 50% of the day. Travel is required approximately 5 times per month and works in weather conditions about 25% of the day. Fingers, thumbs, hands, wrists, elbows, legs and feet are all routinely used throughout the day. The lower and upper torso is used 75% of the day.

    Employee must meet minimum requirements for hearing, speech, and vision. Walking is required 10% of the day. Standing occurs 10% of the day. Sitting happens 80% of the day. Reaching above the shoulder as well as bending and twisting are performed 25% of the day. This function routinely lifts 15 pounds, 4 times per day. The maximum lift is 50 pounds, 1 time per day.
