Job Description
As a Machinist
-Rotating Equipment Technician here at Solstice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring that our facilities are safe and efficient.
- Maintain and repair pumps, compressors, gearboxes, fans, blowers, mixers, and motors
- Rotating Equipment Maintenance
- Perform equipment teardown, inspection, and rebuilds per OEM standards
- Troubleshoot failures and support root cause failure analysis
- Install and commission rotating equipment
- Perform laser and dial indicator shaft alignment
- Correct soft foot and baseplate issues
- Assist with in-situ and shop balancing
- Verify proper installation and startup
- Execute PMs per maintenance strategy and SAP PM work orders
- Support vibration and oil analysis programs
- Provide feedback to planners on PM improvements
- Follow all plant safety, LOTO, and permit requirements
- Ensure work meets mechanical integrity standards
- Document work, findings, and materials in SAP PM
- Report equipment risks and near misses

QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE
- 5–10 years industrial rotating equipment and machining experience
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment and failure modes
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and OEM manuals
- Knowledge of bearings, seals, couplings, and lubrication
- Strong knowledge of building systems and equipment
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in industrial environments
- Support overtime, call-outs, and turnarounds
WE VALUE
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field
- Technical school or apprenticeship
- Millwright or Machinist certification
- Alignment or vibration training
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Chemical, petrochemical, or heavy industrial background preferred
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
