Senior Specialist, Volunteer Services

The American National Red Cross seeks a Senior Specialist, Volunteer Services to lead recruitment, onboarding, and engagement of diverse volunteers supporting disaster relief, blood drives, and community programs. In this mission-driven role, you will coordinate volunteer assignments, deliver orientations and trainings, track metrics, and partner with program leaders to ensure volunteers are effectively deployed. You will improve processes, support local events, promote a culture of inclusion and service, and help volunteers have meaningful, impactful experiences across the region.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, screening, and onboarding of diverse volunteers for Red Cross programs
• Coordinate volunteer placement, scheduling, and assignments across disaster relief, blood drives, and community services
• Deliver orientations and trainings to prepare volunteers for safe and effective service
• Maintain accurate volunteer data, metrics, and reports using volunteer management systems
• Partner with program and field leaders to forecast volunteer needs and deploy resources
• Support planning and execution of local events and volunteer recognition activities
• Improve volunteer processes, documentation, and standard operating procedures
• Promote an inclusive, mission-driven culture that supports volunteer retention and engagement
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, safety standards, and background check requirements
• Serve as a key point of contact for volunteer inquiries, feedback, and conflict resolution
