Store Clerk & Sorting Room Worker

Hours:

Monday – Saturday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM(29 hours per week)
This position is responsible for:

Receives, sorts, prices, and prepares donated items for display in the store; determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards; assists in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the store and sorting room area; assists store customers in donating, selecting, and purchasing store items; operates and maintains a cash register; responds to customer questions.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, sort, and categorize donated items (clothing, shoes, housewares, etc.)Price and tag items based on established guidelines

Hang and rack clothes, box items, and maintain inventory flow Operate cash register, handle sales, count change, issue receipts

Prepare purchased items for bagging and maintain register accuracy

Answer the phone and provide store information

Maintain tidy appearance of the store and sorting room Clean display shelves, floors, mirrors, and windows

Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Continuous walking, standing, stooping, and bending

Able to work in varying store/warehouse conditions

High school diploma or G.E.D. preferred ANDOne year of experience in a retail or warehouse setting preferred

Ability to operate a cash register and perform basic math

Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset ORAny equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
