Job Description
Clean Harbors in Orange, TX is seeking a Field Services Technician I to join our safety conscious team. This role will actively engage in hazardous waste clean‑up, site‑remediation, equipment decontamination and the handling of hazardous materials.

this position requires new hires to attend a two‑week Academy training out of state. Paid training and expenses are covered by the company.

- Engage in strenuous physical labor, including lifting and pulling heavy objects.
- Operate light and heavy equipment, various hand tools and powered industrial tools, and work with vibration‑producing tools.
- Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective equipment (PPE) – respirators, skin, face, hand, and foot protection in multiple combinations.
- Work in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Work in atmospheres and locations with potential exposure to chemical and physical agents, some of which may be hazardous, toxic, or corrosive.
- Work in potentially elevated noise levels, confined spaces, and in low‑clearance areas.
- Work at elevations, including ladders and scaffolding.
- Assist in field sampling activities and meter calibration.
- Climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks, and various other containers.
- Work extended periods (>8 hrs.).
- Attend all compliance and safety update meetings.
- Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Safely load and unload hazardous and non‑hazardous waste.
- Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary.
- Follow all local, state (provincial) and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state and federal requirements.
- Observe all corporate, environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
- Handle site‑remediation, equipment decontamination, and hazardous materials.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to perform physical functions per Key Responsibilities.
- Accept continuing employment condition of emergency response; readiness to work weekends, holidays, and potentially up to 12‑24 hrs. per shift.
- Successfully complete background check, drug test, and physical exam.
- Meet OSHA's Respiratory Protection standard (29 CFR 1910.34) facial hair requirements for respirator use.
- Valid driver's license.
- Previous relevant labor experience.
