RIGGER - Austin Industrial - Orange, TX

Rigger

This position is responsible for assembling rigging to lift and move equipment and materials to and from industrial work areas. The rigger will perform essential duties that support safe operation of hoisting equipment.

• Selects cables, ropes, pull‑ups, winches, blocks, and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved.
• Attaches pull‑ups and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin‑pole booms with bolts and clamps.
• Assembles and disassembles cranes.
• Splices rope and wire cables to make or repair slings or tackle.
• Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wire rope, and chains to crane hook.
• Gives direction to operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material using hand signals and radios.
• Sets up, braces, and rigs hoisting equipment using hand tools and power wrenches.
• Observes and monitors others’ compliance with safety rules.
• Maintains current certifications to meet regulations.

The physical demands of the job include frequent standing, walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and handling up to 25–50 pounds. Regular sitting is required, and the job may require the use of hands and arms to lift, move, and operate equipment.

• Education:
  
  no minimum education requirements.
• Certification/License: NCCCO Rigging Level II or NCCER Advanced Gold.
• Experience:
  
  3–5 years of journeyman‑level rigging experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. This position does not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa.
