Teacher Assistant/Shadow - Orangeburg Wilkinson High School

This position can be as a shadow or a regular teacher assistant.

• Supervises students while they are arriving and departing from school.
• Assists students in academic tasks as outlined by the classroom teacher.
• Assists students during inside or outside recess.
• Assists students during lunchtime.
• Assists with behavior issues.
• Assists students to and from the restroom.
• Contacts parents through phone calls, emails and home visits as accompanied and directed by the teacher.
• Sanitizes/cleans classroom and equipment using approved materials.
• Assists teacher with bulletin‑boards, running errands, making copies, filing and other clerical duties requested by her/him.
• Attends meetings upon request of the teacher or administration.
• Assists in other capacities as directed by the administrator.

Supervises students under teacher direction.

High school diploma; previous experience working with students preferred.
