.
Reporting to the Director, Operations
, the Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication and Paint will oversee experience with powder and e‑coat painting operations and coordinate manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development and implementation of manufacturing methods.
- Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques
- Design manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
- Create processes for stamping, laser, manual and robotic welding operations
- Engage with customer on RFQ (Request for Quote) for fabricated and painted parts
- Utilize corporate quoting tool to process RFQ's for new and existing customers
- Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root‑causes of equipment failures and develop hands‑on maintenance skills; work with engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products, and may develop corrective and preventive action plans
- May be involved in development and update of PFMEA for new products
- May participate in control plan development
- Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g. specifications, procedures)
- Analyze and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
- Confere with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
- Coordinate with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and respond to customer requests
- Provide information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective
- Confere with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering
- 8+ years of engineering experience including supervision and management
- Impacts the long‑term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site
- Computer skills include, but are not limited to: MS Office, AutoCAD, 3D CAD software, Solid Works, Draft Sight
- Lean manufacturing methodologies and principles desired
- Formal training and experience implementing lean strategies to improve process flow and reduce cost preferred
- Read and interpret drawing requirements and specifications required
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills required
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines
- Prefer manufacturing/assembly automation experience
