Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication and Paint located in Orangeburg SC
.

Reporting to the Director, Operations
, the Manufacturing Engineer - Fabrication and Paint will oversee experience with powder and e‑coat painting operations and coordinate manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development and implementation of manufacturing methods.

What a typical day looks like:
  • Understand manufacturing and test equipment concepts, technologies and techniques
  • Design manufacturing processes within schedule and budgetary parameters
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
  • Create processes for stamping, laser, manual and robotic welding operations
  • Engage with customer on RFQ (Request for Quote) for fabricated and painted parts
  • Utilize corporate quoting tool to process RFQ's for new and existing customers
  • Define equipment maintenance requirements, identify root‑causes of equipment failures and develop hands‑on maintenance skills; work with engineering stakeholders and customers on problem solving and continuous improvement to the design of equipment and products, and may develop corrective and preventive action plans
  • May be involved in development and update of PFMEA for new products
  • May participate in control plan development
  • Write and update work instructions and other documents (e.g. specifications, procedures)
  • Analyze and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Confere with production group concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
  • Coordinate with customers to determine product specifications and design changes and respond to customer requests
  • Provide information for management decisions from a technical and technical cost perspective
  • Confere with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 8+ years of engineering experience including supervision and management
  • Impacts the long‑term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site
  • Computer skills include, but are not limited to: MS Office, AutoCAD, 3D CAD software, Solid Works, Draft Sight
  • Lean manufacturing methodologies and principles desired
  • Formal training and experience implementing lean strategies to improve process flow and reduce cost preferred
  • Read and interpret drawing requirements and specifications required
  • Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills required
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines
  • Prefer manufacturing/assembly automation experience
