Position: Personal Care Assistant (PCA)

Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high‑quality support and care to individuals in various settings, including home, community, and long‑term care facilities. This role involves assisting clients with daily activities, monitoring health status, and ensuring their safety and comfort. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient‑centered care, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to improve the lives of those they serve.

Duties
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and record vital signs and observe patients for any changes in health or behavior
  • Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs
  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to safely transfer individuals with mobility challenges
  • Maintain cleanliness of the clients environment through light housekeeping tasks
  • Develop and follow individualized care plans in coordination with healthcare professionals
  • Document care activities accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well‑being
  • Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, or autism support
  • Able to use the Authentic are 2.0 App or the Care Call IVR system
Skills
  • Prior experience in assisted living, home and community care, or long‑term care is preferred
  • Knowledge of patient observation, monitoring vital signs, and recognizing health changes
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or special needs such as autism or dementia is a plus
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team setting
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
  • Compassionate attitude with a focus on providing respectful and dignified care
  • Ability to work independently while following established care plans and protocols
