Job Description Summary
The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an outstanding candidate to assist with coordinating the MUSC Orangeburg Family Medicine Residency program in the role of Residency Program Coordinator. Operating out of MUSC Health – Orangeburg Medical Center, MUSC’s new Orangeburg Family Medicine Residency Program will offer the Program Coordinator the opportunity to develop and coordinate the day-to-day operations of a new training program.
The Program Coordinator will ensure compliance through the ACGME for the accreditation of the program. This position will report directly to the Orangeburg Graduate Medical Education Program Manager, with dotted line reporting to the Orangeburg Family Medicine Program Director.

Job Description
Responsibilities- 35% – Daily operations and logistics for the training program: work closely with the Graduate Medical Education office to process new/returning residents, manage licensure, DEA, DHEC and other accreditation requirements, schedule required certification classes (ACLS, etc.), collaborate with the Program Director to organize lectures and materials, manage the electronic residency management system, prepare reports for institutional and governmental agencies, maintain off-site affiliation agreements, maintain resident files, submit CME paperwork, and serve as liaison with other departments and institutions.
- 20% – Functions as the primary department liaison with Graduate Medical Education office etc.
- 15% – Applicant recruitment responsibilities including reviewing application materials, coordinating ERAS, scheduling interviews, and managing recruitment dinners and orientation.
- 15% – Coordinate ACGME accreditation and reporting requirements.
- 10% – Organize and manage residency rotation schedule and monthly call schedule.
- 5% – Other duties such as organizing guest speaker arrangements, facilitating off campus educational opportunities, and reporting on M&M attendance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Ten years of experience in Graduate Medical Education/Undergraduate Medical Education or in some field of education (i.e., teacher/educator) preferred.
Required
- Graduation from an accredited college or university or an equivalent combination of work experience and education required.
- At least 5 years work experience in an academic healthcare environment required.
- Must have working knowledge of computer and software applications including Microsoft Office.
