SupplyChain Analyst – Orangeburg, SC
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Analyst is in charge of customer interface on strategic materials for key assigned accounts. The analyst helps develop, implement GPSC reports, data research trends to facilitate resolutions.
What a typical day looks like:- Drives sourcing/pricing strategies in materials quotations.
- Presents materials value-added to customers or suppliers, and influences customers to use Flex preferred suppliers.
- Interfaces with customers or suppliers in new project start‑up, for cost of ownership issues.
- Develops and guides implementation of flexibility and supply assurance plans.
- Manages component cost/price on a local, regional and global basis.
- Tracks materials financial performance and initiates corrective actions when required.
- Defines and implements pricing and costing strategies.
- Co‑ordinates sourcing strategies with Supply Management and Customers.
- Develops and implements cost take‑down strategies.
- Increases Vendor Managed Inventory, reduces Guide‑Time and Electronic Data Interface penetration.
- Manages regional supplier contract negotiations, including Memorandums of Understanding, Non‑disclosure and regional pricing agreements.
- Develops and maintains supplier relationships.
- Measures and reports Purchase Price Variance and initiates action plans.
- Monitors and manages supplier times.
- Mitigates shortages, excess on order and excess on hand.
- Participates on and helps global and regional commodity teams.
- Contributes information/data on top spend suppliers for quarterly scorecards.
- Manages material cost reviews.
- Drives initiatives to improve gross material margin.
- Identifies, implements and drives actions for Retained Purchase Price Variance (RPPV) optimization.
- Drives reconciliation process with customer (PPV, Premium charges, carrying costs, freight charges, excess and obsolete inventory, Non‑cancelable, Non‑Returnable (NCNR), etc.).
- Identifies opportunities to increase turnkey business and develops materials management plan.
- Coordinates quarterly/monthly PPV hard call process.
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, materials sourcing, commodity management or supply chain design/management or other related areas.
- Must understand cost accounting, electronic component markets, price trends and technologies.
- A background in electronics manufacturing and a thorough understanding of Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) product development process.
- Proficiency with office software: word processing, spreadsheets, presentation packages, and database systems.
