- ** Job Description Summary
** This is a journeyman level position in the maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities during peak and non-peak hours. Work involves the use of power and hand tools in maintaining specific zone assignments which covers a variety of corrective maintenance and repairs ranging from minor to extensive. All work is performed in accordance with instructions and established trade practices.
Occasional monitoring or supervision may be necessary when new assignments are given. All work assignments will originate from the Hospital Help Desk, FSC, Maintenance Manager or Supervisor and subject to supervision and inspection by same or assigned subordinate. Considered Essential Personnel in a disaster situation.

** Installs, maintain, and repair facility, grounds, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with policies and procedures. Inspects and operates different types of equipment to include electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to ensure that all are functioning properly. Installs new equipment and systems. Repairs and maintains current equipment and systems as needed. Monitors and inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and regulations.
Maintains and performs preventive maintenance inspections according to schedule. Documents maintenance, inspections and services performed. Accesses facilities risk for safety and informs management of potential risks. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

* Education:
** High School Diploma or GED.Must possess the ability to read and interpret business or safety manual, clinical or technical procedures or regulations. Ability to write reports, correspondence, and/or manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, patients, families, other employees and medical staff.
Must possess the ability to perform basic math functions, (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) - using numbers, money and units of measurement.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish fact, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with concrete and abstract concepts and interpret verbal, non-verbal, and written instructions

** Must have at least 6 months of experience in installation or maintenance of equipment in healthcare or service industry. Specialized training or certification preferred.
