Shift HoursNIGHT SHIFT – Monday through Wednesday 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM;
Thursday 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM;
Friday, Saturday, Sunday – Scheduled off.
DAY SHIFT TRAINING – Monday through Wednesday 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM;
Thursday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM;
Friday, Saturday, Sunday – Scheduled off.
Online Assessment Required For Consideration.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES UP TO 90 DAYS OF TRAINING ON FIRST SHIFT.
Purpose of RoleThe role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. Production Operators must ensure safety, efficiency, operational conformance, product quality, and continuous improvement, and must train and/or perform tasks of other associates as needed.
Principal Accountabilities- Extrusion & Mixing
- Properly operate extruders, dryers, mixers, and coating application systems.
- Adjust equipment to maintain product quality.
- Lubricate equipment to ensure longevity of parts.
- Practice Lock-Out Tag-Out during maintenance or repair.
- Maintain accurate records of QC checks, production numbers, and waste performance.
- Perform QC tasks such as metal checks and inspection of date codes, item numbers, and dump logs.
- Ensure finished product meets all quality standards and that run documentation is completed.
- Ensure finished product is properly formed and coated.
- Run equipment efficiently and ensure dies are ready for the next run.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Ingredients
- Assure quality ingredients are being extruded.
- Collect samples for Quality Assurance as required.
- Check product density, fat, moisture, and protein as needed.
- Check product size, shape, and color continually.
- Ensure the formulated amount of fat, acid, and dry coating is properly applied.
- Clean finished product bins between runs.
- Safety of all employees and equipment
- Keep all equipment in a safe operating condition.
- Practice safety Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures.
- Maintain a clean and neat area.
- Follow all plant safety rules (wear bump hats, ear protection, no rings, etc.).
- Wear dust mask when weighing and dumping hand‑add ingredients.
- Team player and action oriented.
- High mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Good math, reading, and writing skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Continuous self‑development.
- Capable of working at elevated heights and/or confined spaces.
- Wearing proper PPE (hair net, bump cap, ear plugs, safety shoes, uniform).
- Bending, stooping, twisting, turning, standing extended periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 55 lbs.
- Adaptable to temperature and environmental extremes.
- Knowledge of local, federal, and industry regulations related to food safety (GMP, HACCP), food quality, QMP policies, and SPC.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Willing and able to work varying shifts and schedules.
- Understand and effectively communicate in English.
- Working knowledge of safety, quality, and material management systems.
- Unable to read and interpret the daily production run schedule.
- Communicate production, quality, or business‑critical information to managers and team members.
- Successful completion of a substance screening and background check.
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines.
- 2 years of manufacturing or technical/trade discipline experience.
- Working knowledge of food safety, GMP, HACCP, and SPC.
- Competency in computer and PC software, including MS Office and email.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles.
- Ability to operate a forklift with OSHA certification.
- Experience with JD Edwards and SAP.
