Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring Epic proficiency and AHA certifications.
Responsibilities- Work setting is an acute care hospital with 286 staffed beds
- Emergency Department (ER) nursing position
- Patient-to-nurse ratios are acuity-based
- Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, 7p–7a
- Every other weekend required
- Floating within scope to meet facility and department needs is required
- On-call is not required
- Charting is performed in Epic (experience required)
- Parking is provided at no cost
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have emergency room experience
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates (within 60 miles of the facility) may be considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are subject to the local radius rule
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed upfront; approval is based on facility needs
- Orientation modules are completed prior to the start date
- Royal blue scrubs are required
- Travelers should be aware that during hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- Active SC RN license or Compact/Multi-State RN license required; SC license in hand is prioritized, though candidates with a pending SC license will be considered
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional supervisor references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
