American Traveler is seeking an experienced ER RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in Orangeburg, SC, requiring Epic proficiency and AHA certifications.
Responsibilities- Works in the Emergency Department of a 286-bed acute care hospital
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7p–7a
- Patient ratios are acuity-based
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating within scope required to meet facility and department needs
- Charting performed in Epic (experience required)
- Free parking available on-site
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have emergency room experience
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the MUSC system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at the time of consideration; approval is subject to facility needs
- Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, and local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Completion of online orientation modules required prior to start date (approximately 4 hours)
- Royal blue scrubs required
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
- Active SC RN license or multi-state/compact RN license required; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered
- Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- SSN and driver's license required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
