American Traveler is hiring an experienced MS/Tele RN for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment requiring SC or compact RN licensure and telemetry competency.

• Work in the MS/Tele unit of an acute care hospital
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45am-7:15pm
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within scope to like units or sister facilities as needed
• Uses Epic for charting

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Tele competency required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral/PICC line care/management
• Experience with blood product administration and port accessing/management

• Level III Trauma facility with 286 total staffed beds
• Provide skilled nursing care to a med/surg telemetry patient population including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Scrub color requirement is royal blue
• First-time travelers accepted for this position
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized for this assignment
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval but are not guaranteed
• Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2-week period
• Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
