Edisto Post‑Acute is a 113‑bed skilled‑nursing and rehabilitation facility located in Orangeburg, South Carolina, in close proximity to the Edisto Memorial Gardens. The facility offers a supportive, family‑like environment and a variety of growth opportunities for its staff.

- Provide direct nursing care to residents
- Supervise and support the daily activities of nursing assistants (CNAs)
- Accurately document resident care and changes in condition
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Create a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for residents
- Direct the day‑to‑day functions of nursing assistants in accordance with facility rules and regulations
- Ensure compliance with written policies and procedures
- Review and recommend updates to department policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions
- Plan shift services, programs, and activities with assigned nursing staff and support personnel
- Maintain current Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure all personnel are aware of its procedures
- Prepare written and oral reports regarding shift activities for the Nurse Supervisor and administrative staff
- Coordinate with other resident services to maintain a consistent total care regimen
- Participate in quality‑assurance program implementation and facility surveys conducted by authorized agencies
- Manage resident discharge planning and coordinate resident transportation and discharge documentation
- Complete accident/incident reports as required and submit to the appropriate authority
- Maintain daily census and submit reports to the Business Office
- Complete and file required medical records upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge
- Encourage physicians to review treatment plans and sign orders in accordance with policies
- Record telephone orders from physicians on the correct order form
- Transcribe physician orders to resident charts, medication cards, and care plans as necessary
- Chart nurse notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided and resident response
- Accurately complete and submit accident/incident reports, transfer forms, and unauthorized discharge documentation
- Ensure all documentation is signed, dated, and compliant with charting policies
- Prepare and administer medications as ordered by physician
- Verify resident identity and ensure medications are correctly matched
- Maintain adequate floor stock of medications and supplies; report needs to the Nurse Supervisor
- Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as needed and in accordance with policies
- Maintain accurate narcotic records and notify discrepancies
- Review medication cards for completeness and accuracy and notify physicians of orders needing stop settings
- Dispose of drugs and narcotics according to established procedures
- Participate in employee performance evaluations and staffing needs assessments
- Notify the Nurse Supervisor of staffing issues, absenteeism, and complaints
- Ensure all nursing assistants meet training or certification requirements and are supervised by licensed nurses
- Develop work assignments, conduct quality checks of nursing activities, and address areas needing improvement
- Maintain a positive, calm work climate and ensure adherence to infection‑control, safety, and hygiene procedures
- Handle disciplinary actions in a fair, non‑discriminatory manner per facility guidelines
- Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharge of residents, and manage resident care plans
- Assist with daily resident care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and positioning
- Collaborate with physicians and therapists to implement rehabilitation protocols
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as catheterization, tube feeds, suction, dressings, and blood draws
