American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Details- Work on a newly established Med/Surg Tele unit at an acute care hospital being built from the ground up
- 18-bed unit with bedside monitors capable of telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse ox monitoring
- Charge responsibilities split between stepdown and 3 west
- 24/7 house supervisor coverage available, with off-shift leadership reachable by phone
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 6:45pm-7:15am
- Every other weekend required (non-negotiable)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Uses Epic charting system
- Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- MS/Tele and telemetry experience required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response required
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care required
- Renal failure patient care experience required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care on a newly developed telemetry unit with growth opportunities
- Manage cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response for telemetry patients
- Scrub color required is royal blue
- No cost parking available
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted but considered after non-local candidates and at a reduced rate
- Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Block scheduling requests can be submitted for approval prior to assignment but are not guaranteed
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- During hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
