American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.

• Acute care hospital setting on a newly established Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Unit is an 18-bed floor with charge responsibilities split between stepdown and 3 West
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Utilizes bedside monitors with telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry capabilities
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:45am-7:15pm
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
• 24/7 house supervisor coverage available, with unit leadership reachable by phone during off-shift hours
• Uses Epic EMR system

• Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
• Experience with telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and on-unit telemetry monitoring required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Skills required include isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, nasal cannula and oxygen administration, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and renal failure management
• Valid driver's license required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care on a growing Med/Surg Telemetry unit, including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
• Perform management of dysrhythmias and related interpretation duties
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius to be considered a non-local candidate for travel rate eligibility; local candidates may be considered at a reduced rate
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
• Block scheduling requests may be submitted for approval but are not guaranteed
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration for approval based on facility needs
• During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
