American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position at an acute care hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and telemetry competency on night shifts.
- Night shift position working 3x12‑hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 286‑bed acute care hospital (Level III Trauma)
- Patient ratio of 1:5–6
- Every other weekend required
- No on‑call responsibilities
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
- Charting performed in Epic
- Parking is provided at no cost
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Active SC RN license or Compact RN license in hand prior to start; pending SC license may be considered
- Current AHA certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIH Stroke Scale preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Telemetry competency required
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Community hospital experience preferred
- SSN and Driver's License required for consideration
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required
- First‑time travelers accepted for this position
- Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non‑local candidates are prioritized
- Local candidates may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; approval is based on facility needs
- Online modules must be completed prior to the start of the assignment
- During hurricane season (June–November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September
Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax‑free stipend amount to be determined. American Traveler Job #P-713725.
