American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and an active SC or Compact RN license.
Details- Acute care hospital setting on a newly built MS/Tele unit
- 1:6 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:45p-7:15a)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Uses bedside monitors capable of telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse ox monitoring
- Charting completed in Epic
- Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2 years of MS/Tele nursing experience required
- Experience with telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and on-unit telemetry monitoring required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Driver's license and SSN required for consideration
- Provide cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response as needed
- Manage patients requiring isolation precautions/PPE, respiratory care, oxygen administration, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line management
- Care for patients with renal failure and related genitourinary conditions
- No off-shift management on-site, but leadership is reachable by phone; 24/7 house supervisor coverage available
- Royal blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
- Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate; non-local candidates are prioritized
- Must reside outside a 60-mile radius to qualify for standard travel rate
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
- All requested time off must be submitted in advance and is subject to facility approval
- During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
