American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a day shift position on a newly established unit requiring telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation experience.
Details- Acute care hospital setting on a newly established Med/Surg Tele unit currently staffed with 18 beds
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Shift schedule is 3x12 Day shifts from 6:45am-7:15pm
- Every other weekend work is required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required within scope to meet facility needs
- Unit utilizes bedside monitors capable of telemetry, blood pressure, and pulse ox monitoring
- Charge responsibilities split between stepdown and 3 west
- 24/7 house supervisor coverage available, with leadership reachable by phone during off-shift hours
- Active SC or Compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
- Required experience in MS/Tele, telemetry, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and on-unit telemetry monitoring
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias preferred
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE, oxygen administration via nasal cannula, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line care, and renal failure management
- Provide direct patient care on a newly built Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Royal blue scrubs required
- Must reside within 60 miles for local candidate consideration, though non-local candidates are prioritized
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous permanent or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested time off must be submitted at time of application for approval based on facility needs
- Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
- Facility may cancel up to 1 shift every 2 weeks
- Employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, with peak activity in August and September)
