American Traveler is hiring an Endoscopy RN with at least 2 years of GI/Endoscopy experience and prior travel assignment experience for a day shift position with every third weekend call.
Requirements- Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of Endoscopy RN experience required
- Prior travel RN experience preferred, especially in Endoscopy
- Epic EMR experience required
- Experience administering and monitoring conscious sedation and managing dysrhythmias
- Skilled in airway management and recovery from conscious/monitored anesthesia care sedation
- Experience with procedures such as bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and esophageal variceal banding
- Experience with equipment including electrosurgical units, dilators, forceps, and polyp snares
- SSN required for consideration
- Acute care hospital setting in the Endoscopy department
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 6:00am-2:30pm
- Call required approximately every third weekend from Friday 3pm to Monday 6am, shared with two full-time Endo RNs
- Some weekday call required after 3pm, split among staff
- No floating required between units or sister facilities
- Uses Epic charting system
- Cares for inpatient and outpatient endoscopy cases, including portable/bedside procedures
- Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care, specimen handling/labeling, and medication administration including opioid analgesics and reversal agents
- Performs 12-lead EKG/ECG and IV starts as part of pre-procedure duties
- Navy blue scrubs required
- No-cost parking available
- Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility to respond to call as needed
- Radius rule of 60 miles applies, with non-local candidates prioritized
- Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- All requested RTO must be submitted at time of offer; approval is based on facility needs
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
- First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
