South Carolina State University has been a cornerstone of Orangeburg and a pillar of the HBCU tradition since 1896. As a Campus Security Guard within the Campus Police Department, you'll help protect the people, property, and legacy that make SC State a place where students thrive.

Your Role on Campus
Working Full-time Across Scheduled Shifts, You'll Be a Visible And Trusted Presence Across The SC State Campus. Your Day-to-day Will Include

• Patrolling campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, and residence halls to deter and respond to security incidents
• Monitoring access points and enforcing university policies to maintain a safe environment for students, faculty, and staff
• Responding to calls for assistance, documenting incidents accurately, and liaising with local law enforcement when required
• Supporting crowd management at campus events, including evening and weekend functions

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Current or ability to obtain a South Carolina Security Guard registration
• Valid South Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record
• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or a related public safety role
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for accurate incident reporting
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays
