Job Description Summary
Under general supervision performs routine security duties in protecting State and personal property and maintaining security of State institution. Performs routine and repetitive duties following clearly prescribed standards and practices as set forth by the Manager of Hospital Security. Work involved shift work and some overtime. Comes in contact on daily basis with faculty, staff, students, employees and visitors. Must be able to use tact and communicate clearly with public.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written. Ability to communicate tactfully with the general public. Knowledge of methods of security in buildings and grounds.

Job Description Education
High School Diploma; A Bachelor’s degree or other relevant certifications may be substituted for the required work experience.
Experience1 year of relevant experience (Security, Law Enforcement, Fire Service, Emergency Medical Service, Behavioral Health, Counselor, Education, or Military).
CredentialsMust obtain and be able to maintain the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety certification (IAHSS) within the first year of employment. Must have a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
