** Job Duties and Responsibilities
** The Utility Foreman oversees daily field operations related to underground utilities, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications. This position leads crews to install water, sewer, storm drain, and related infrastructure on residential, commercial, and municipal projects.
* Supervise and lead crews performing installation of water, sewer, storm drainage, and other underground utility systems.
* Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and site layouts to guide daily tasks.
* Coordinate with the Superintendent, Project Manager, inspectors, and other trades to keep the project moving on schedule.
* Ensure all utility work meets local, state, and project-specific codes and requirements.
* Set daily tasks, manage manpower, and ensure proper use of equipment and materials.
* Maintain accurate daily reports, quantities, and timecards.
* Conduct site safety meetings and enforce all safety procedures and guidelines.
* Oversee trenching, pipe layout, elevations, and backfill to ensure correct installation.
* Inspect completed work and perform quality control checks.
* Troubleshoot field issues and adjust plans as needed.
* Operate heavy equipment as needed (excavator, loader, etc.)## Qualifications
* 3–5 years of experience in underground utility installation; prior foreman or lead-man experience preferred.
* Strong knowledge of water, sewer, and storm systems, pipe materials, laser levels, and trench safety.
* Ability to read grading, utility, and civil site plans.
* Strong leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and manage a fast-paced job site.
* Must follow all OSHA and company safety standards.
* Valid driver's license preferred.
