Key Responsibilities:
Staff Accountant

• Oversee accounting activities for designated programs or departments
• Review general ledger entries and supporting documents for accuracy and adherence to internal guidelines
• Process and monitor accounts payable through established approval workflows
• Audit corporate card transactions for proper coding and documentation
• Prepare and record journal entries
• Handle incoming cash entries and postings for assigned areas
• Support month-end close processes and general ledger upkeep
• Generate financial reports through the organization's accounting platform

Preferred Qualifications:
Staff Accountant

• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel
• Experience with in a nonprofit environment is a plus
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting software (such as Shelby or similar) is beneficial
