Coffman Excavation is a growing leader in the earthwork industry and we are looking for an experienced Construction Accounting Manager to join our team. We take great pride in our work, employees and our community.
This candidate will be detail oriented and organized maintaining a high volume of accounting functions. This position requires solid experience and understanding of all accounting functions in construction that include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billings, Cash Management, General Ledger, Payroll and Subcontracts as well as job costing. Must be able to back up each desk and manage all accounting personnel. Candidate can trouble shoot and problem solve accounting issues and help meet deadlines.
Required to be reliable, motivated and productive employee that is willing to learn and grow with the company. The job location is in Oregon City, Oregon.
Monday through Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in person only
Requirements andJob Duties
- Must be capable of learning and backing up payroll of 300+ employees, union and non-union and multi-state.
- Making tax payments, garnishment payments and 401k loan payments each week as a backup.
- Managing and learning reporting certified payroll requirements on multi platforms.
- Understanding vacation and sick leave accruals and keeping them accurate and up to date.
- Processing quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting to various agencies.
- Learn the monthly union reporting to Operators and Laborers Unions in various states
- Assist in all new hire dispatching requests and setting up new employees in payroll.
- Manage and oversee all annual audits from various agencies.
- Prepare any market recovery for unions, when it applies.
- Processing monthly workers’ compensation and crediting all job related OCIP policies. Owner Contractor Insurance Program.
- Reconciling payroll accruals to general ledger
- Has background in setting up Subcontracts and Change Orders
- Has background and experience in various billings that are on multi platforms.
- Has solid experience in setting up Prepaids and reconciling at yearend.
- Has experience in depreciation
- Experience in all yearend requirements, such as payroll tax reporting, W2’s and 401k Census Data requirements.
- 10+ years’ experience required in construction accounting
- Experience in accounting management and human resource management
- Solid knowledge of all payroll tax reporting and law requirements.
- Experience with administering company benefits and having solid understanding of employee handbook.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with Viewpoint Construction Accounting Software
High School Diploma
4 year Business and/or Accounting Degree
Salary & Benefits- $100,000 to $120,000 annual salary – depending on experience and qualifications.
